Why Is My Car Overheating All The Time?

If your car is constantly heating up, it means that you need a new radiator. The radiator is at the end of its lifespan if your vehicle has been in use for 10 years. Some radiators don’t last as long, while others last much longer. Your radiator may be leaking or damaged in some other way. Below are some indicators that your radiator may be failing so you can identify the problem. Don’t worry. We are cooling system specialists and can assist.

Leaking Coolant

If the radiator’s bottom is rusted, it will leak coolant. This is a common problem for older radiators. Coolant leaking from a radiator is most likely to be visible to the naked eye if you see coolant spots or puddles under your car towards the engine’s front. A corroded radiator can’t be repaired. It must be replaced. The bottom is not a separate part of the radiator. The unit is one entire unit.

Orange Coolant

It is possible that your radiator is not leaking, but this does not necessarily mean it isn’t corroded. Check the coolant level in the radiator if the radiator has been around for 10 years. The coolant may turn orange if there is a lot of rust inside the radiator. You may even be able see the rust in the coolant if you see metal flakes floating around. It is time to replace a rusted radiator.

Clogged Fins

Clogged fins are another problem that will require a new radiator. These fins are air inlets which draw in air to cool the coolant. If the air inlets can be cleaned, it may be possible to solve the problem this way. However, if this is not possible, the radiator will have to be replaced. The radiator and fins are one piece. They are not distinct and separate from each other – just like the radiator bottom.

Damaged Fins

Road debris can also cause damage to the fins. This can dent them and close off the airflow into the radiator. This is often irreparable. We will recommend a replacement radiator for your vehicle.
